Port Blair, Nov 01: A training module on “Beauty and Wellness” under the PMKVY was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray on 31st OCTOBER 2015 at 4.30pm in the premises of Yuvasakthi at RGT Road, Port Blair.
As part of the skill development mission of the Government of India, the Yuvasakthi, an NGO in collaboration with CENTUM WORKSKILLS INDIA, New Delhi (An affiliated skill training agency of Government of India) has been granted the project to run the course. During his inaugural speech, Mr.Ray, MP lauded the efforts of Yuvasakthi in promoting women empowerment and skill dissemination.
He also spoke in length about the free medical reimbursement extended to eligible citizens of these islands by the Administration. While asserting that, he was aware of various field works done by the Yuvasakthi in the sphere of women empowerment and skill development, he explained about the MUDRA Loan Scheme which can be availed from any
nationalized bank for which he called upon the needy folks to approach the Yuvasakthi or the office of the MP on any working days.
The MP also handed over cheques meant for entrepreneurship loan amounting to Rs.7.50 lakhs to some self help groups namely Ararthi SHG, Harinshri SHG, Achu SHG, Vishalatci SHG, Kilaigal SHG and Ragavi SHG which were promoted and guided by Yuvasakthi. This loan was disbursed by State Bank of India through the Yuvsakthi which has been functioning as an approved Micro-Finance Institution (MFI).
Earlier, while welcoming the MP and other dignitaries, Mr.S.P.Raja, Co-founder explained about the scheme under which the Beautician and Wellness course is being run and also spoke in length about the working plan of the Yuvasakthi for women empowerment and entrepreneurship. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by Mr.K.Subramani, Co-founder of Yuvasakthi.
