Port Blair, Nov 01: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma, leaders and general public have observed the martyrdom day of Smti Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister and birth centenary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel, former Home Minister at Gandhi Bhavan yesterday.
At the outset Kuldeep has garlanded the portraits of Smti Indira Gandhi and Sardar Patel.
In his brief speech Kuldeep has stated that Smti Indira Gandhi was one of the most charismatic leaders not only of modern India but also of whole world.
“Indira jee’s ideas and activities touched different spheres of India’s public life and politics and left an imprint on world affairs, especially, the Non-alignment Movement. Indira Gandhi strengthened the democratic structure and tradition of India,” he said.
Pledge was also administered by the President.
