Port Blair, Nov 01: A week long programme was organized by Anti Corruption Unit, Port Blair w.e.f. 26th Oct to 31st Oct, 2015. During this period, the officials of Anti Corruption Unit visited various Govt. offices under A & N Administration and checked the procedures adopted by the dealing officials.
During the period, the AC Unit has conducted Elocution / Speech Competition among the School / College children on the topic “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance” at the Auditorium, TGCE, Port Blair. In Elocution competition by school children held on 29/10/2015, Kumari. P.S.M. Gayatri, Class XIIth of KV No. – I, Kumar. Shubham Kumar, Class XIth of SSS Carmel and Kumari. C. Rajani, Class XIIth of VKV stood first, second & third respectively. In speech competition by college students held on 30/10/2015, Miss. Nishu, (B.Sc. Maths), JNRM, Miss. Radha, (M.Com), JNRM and Miss. Sangeeta.G, (B.Ed), TGCE stood first, second and third respectively.
The programme was concluded on 31st Oct, 2015 in which Shri. Atmaram V. Deshpande, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Anti Corruption Unit was the Chief Guest & distributed the certificates alongwith cash award to the winners. He also spoke on the measures to be taken up for promoting Preventive Vigilance to lead a Good Governance. Shri. Subodh Kr. Goswami, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Anti Corruption Unit proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Shri. P.C. Kannappa, Assistant Engineer, Anti Corruption Unit.
