Diglipur, Oct 16: To mark the World Food day a programme was organized by the Department of Agriculture , Diglipur in association with union territory Agriculture Technology Management Agency (UTATMA) in the office of the Asssistant Director(Agri) Diglipur at 10.00AM. Smt Lalita Tigga, Block development Officer, Diglipur graced this occasion as Chief Guest.
Asst. Director (Soil) Smti. Shirly Thomas , N & M Andaman elaborated the theme for this year” Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the cycle of poverty:, and had informed the gathering that the World food day is the day to heighten public awareness about the inter connection of agriculture, food security and world hunger.
Chief Guest BDO appealed the real growers to reap maximum benefits of various agriculture schemes for their socio economic upliftment. Smti R Bhu Bharthy , Agriculture Assistant and Shri Dinesh Das Agriculture Assistant also spoke on this occasion
