Port Blair, Oct 15: As part VTP run by the Yuvasakthi (NGO) under the aegis of Ministry of Employment and Training, Government of India, a programme was held in the conference hall of Yuvasakthi, RGT Road to mark the distribution of certificates to pass-out students. In a solemn function which was held at around 3.00pm on 14th October 2015, Mr.Venkatesh Ch. Principal, ITI, Dollygunj was the chief guest and distributed certificates to pass-out students in the presence of Mr.L.Senthil, Vocational Instructor.
Of the batch of 65 students who underwent the training which comprised of 620 Hrs duration on travel and tourism management, around 80% of them have been placed in various hotels, restaurants and travel desks in Port Blair while others have chosen to start their own entrepreneurial ventures.
With the on-hand experience gained from this course, a batch of this passed out students had submitted an innovative project on tourism during the passing out ceremony and the said project is under evaluation with the Yuvasakthi and the same will be put up before the Administration for which necessary support and guidance have been assured by the Principal, ITI. If launched, the project will be of immense of benefit for the growth of local tourism industry.
