Port Blair, Oct 13: The Government of India through Ministry of HRD is in the process of formulating the National Education Policy in view of changing dynamics of India’s requirement regarding quality education, innovation and research, making India a knowledge superpower by equipping its students with the necessary skills and knowledge and to ensure adequate and skilled manpower in science, technology, academics and industry.
For this purpose, 33 themes have been identified for discussions across the country. The themes are divided separately for the School Education (13 themes) and Higher Education (20 themes) sectors.
These themes can be accessed on A & N Admn’s Education Department’s Website http://education.andaman.gov.in under caption New Education Policy by clicking the links “Themes & Question of Higher Education” and “Themes & Question of School Education”. In this regard, Panachayat level, Block level, District level discussions/suggestions on New Education Policy have already been ascertained and State Level discussion will be held shortly.

Shri Raajiv Yaduvanshi, Principal Secetary (Edn), A & N Admn. and Ms. Tanvi Garg, Secretary (Edn) also launched an Android based Mobile app “Dweep Shiksha”.
Dr. B.M.Bhatt DDE(Science) and team from SOVTECH have prepared this application. This application may be downloaded by scanning a QR code or by searching “Dweep Shiksha” from Google Play Store, where the residents of A & N Islands can give their valuable suggestions by following the instructions and selecting the relevant theme by 16-10-2015.
