Port Blair, Aug 27: Acting on a tip off about transportation of Ganja from Kolkata by ship and further transportation from Mayabunder to Diglipur by road on Thursday, a police team comprising Sub Inspector Krishna Rao, HCs U.K.Pandey, Abdul Razzaque, Anjana Mondal, PCs Laxman Rao, Srinivasu and Raj Vivek Lakra of PS Diglipur under the supervision of SDPO Diglipur Shri Chandra Kumar Singh swung into action and apprehended one person namely Milan Dey (47 yrs), r/o Madhupur at Krishnapuri Road, Diglipur Bazaar and seized 4 kgs of illicit ganja from his possession. The accused was arrested after observing all codal formalities and a criminal case under appropriate sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Diglipur and further investigation is in progress.
