Port Blair, Aug 27: As part of community policing, the Dy.SP, Rangat, Middle Andaman, Mr Ajay Kumar Rai has decided to depute police personnel to help the senior citizens and handicapped persons availing treatment and medicines at CHC Rangat. Acting on orders, the SHI Rangat, Inspector RK Sharma deputed two police personnel from Aug 24 to assist patients at CHC Rangat. The move by the police has been largely appreciated by the public of the region. Besides, the Rangat Police also conducts awareness programmes on various subjects for the welfare of the public.
CHC Rangat is situated at Rampur under the jurisdiction of PS Rangat and large number of people including ladies, children, senior citizens and handicapped persons visit the health centre for treatment. Due to increase in the number of patients, many are forced to wait in long queues for hours for treatment and obtaining medicines. To assist senior citizens and handicapped person, the Rangat Police took the initiative to alleviate their problems.
