Port Blair, Aug 21: On the third day of filling of nominations for Panchayat & Municipal Elections, 2015, total 46 nominations were received for various posts. On Friday, 14 nominations were filed for Councilor PBMC, 21 for Gram Panchayat Member, 8 for Gram Pradhan, 3 for Panchayat Samity Member and none for Zilla Parishad constituency.
The last date for applying to the Director, Panchayat & Municipal Elections along with the copy of form “A” appended to A & N Islands Election Symbols (Reservation & Allotment) Order 2005, for allotment of exclusive symbols to state parties is 22nd August 2015.
To enforce Modal Code of Conduct in an effective manner, various teams have been functioning under the control and supervision of District Administration. The District Control Room is also functioning as Election Cell round the clock and receiving the complaints, grievances and suggestions related to Modal Code of Conduct and other election matters from general public and the contesting candidates on telephone 03912-240127, said the Additional District Magistrate, South Andaman in a release.
