Port Blair, Aug 18: With the announcement of Panchayat & Municipal Elections -2015 in A& N Islands on September 20th and to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections and to take preventive measures in pursuance of the Election instructions, all the licence holders of Arms and Ammunition under South Andaman District are required to deposit their licensed arms with the nearest Police Station by 19/8/2015 positively.
The Police authorities shall issue proper receipt of the deposition of Arms and Ammunition. The Arms and Ammunition will be returned to the licenced holders after one week of the declaration of the results of the Election. All the Arms licence holders are directed to comply with this order. The Arms licence held by Forest Department and Bank Security Personnel are exempted from the order, said the District Magistrate, South Andaman in a release.
