Port Blair, Aug 4: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain (7-12cm) at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the next 48 hours. Under the influence of moderate to strong southwest monsoon current, strong Southwesterly wind speed between 30 and 40 kilometer per hour gusting to 45 kilometer per hour and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts. Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing in to the sea during next 24 hours.
