Port Blair, June 12: Shri Vishal Jolly, President, BJP State Unit and Shri K Srinivasan, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, N&M Andaman called on the Lt Governor, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), at Raj Niwas today.
They apprised the Lt Governor of the issues and problems faced by the Zilla Parishad in N & M Andaman District. Shri Srinivasan raised the issue of release of the backlog of 17 crores, out of the total of 33 crores, due to the Zilla Parishad, N&M Andaman.
He informed the Lt Governor that this had been recommended by the 3rd UT Commission but is still to be implemented. Among other issues raised by him were affiliation of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, pending with the CBSE, regularization of 7 JEs engaged in the Zilla Parishad as well as grant of MACP to the 40 JEs of Zilla Parishad. He also requested for extending transmission of FM radio services to N&M Andaman.
The Lt Governor directed Chief Secretary and other officers, who were present to look into these issues.
