Port Blair, June 12: Shri Vishal Jolly, President, BJP State Unit called on the Lt Governor, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), along with a delegation of Ranchi Association, at Raj Niwas today. Shri Jolly raised the issue of extending reservation to the people of Ranchi Community of the A&N Islands as has been extended to the community on the mainland. The delegation urged the Lt Governor to renew the case with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI.
The Lt Governor assured the delegation that their request will be looked into afresh and has asked the Tribal Welfare Department to have the matter re-examined.
