Port Blair, Apr 28: World Malaria Day was observed on the theme “ Invest in the Future-Defeat Malaria” on April 2015 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands together with the rest of the World. The main function was held at Conference Hall of Directorate of Health Services on 25th April 2015 and the function was attended by Deputy Director District (Malaria), Principal Nursing Officers, Health Education Office, District Malaria Officers, Health Educators, Malaria Inspector, ANMs, ANMs Trainees, Surveillance Workers, and Malaria Mazdoors. The Director of Health Service Dr. Shipra Paul was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Shipra Paul, Director of Health Services, she urges the Medical and Paramedical Health Staffs to carry out effective health awareness campaign to eliminate Malaria cases form this Islands.
Dr. Amitabha Dey, Deputy Director (Malaria) in his address highlighted about Malaria and presented a power point presentation about prevention and control of Malaria in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Earlier, Smti. Shahida Bibi, Health Education, state Health Education Bureau welcome the gatherings and the programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Shri. Madan Singh Health Education, state Health Education Bureau of this Directorate.
