Port Blair, Apr 06: A meeting followed by field visit was held under the Chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration alongwith with the Hon’ble Member of Parliament to review the status of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and to prepare the Village Development Plan (VDP) of Ferrargunj Panchayat today on 6th April 2015 at 11.00 AM. The Deputy Commissioner (SA)/Nodal Officer under SAGY welcomed the gathering and presented the status report of the SAGY. The Secretary (Rural Development) pointed out about the priorities of all the departments and urged them to submit the desired information about source of fund & time line of work within stipulated time. The Hon’ble Member of Parliament added that all departments should go through the amended guidelines of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana for further preparation of their respective department plan under Ferrargunj Panchayat.
The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration directed all the Head of the Departments to follow the instructions to prepare VDP for Ferrargunj Gram Panchayat. The Chief Secretary also visited the Ferrargunj water treatment plant, Beach Dera Nalla and Jinga Nalla water source and directed CE, APWD to ensure adequate water supply to all the villages of Ferrargunj Panchayat. Disaster management building at Ferrargunj was also visited and the Honb’le MP offered that he would provide fund from MPLAD to construct VKV School & that the school will be managed by the Zilla Parisad, South Andaman and annual maintenance will be ensured by the Education department. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration also visited Ranchi Basti, Caddlegunj and instructed Zilla parisad to repair the road of Ranchi basti to which Adhyaksha, Zilla Parisad agreed.
The Secretary Education, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Additional District Magistrate (SA)/Charge Officer under SAGY, PRIs and HoDs of various line departments were also present during the visit.
In the evening, meeting of the empowered committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary was also held. Secretaries of various line departments were asked to attend to the work under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) in a time bound manner.
