Port Blair, Apr 02: The Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan, today visited Humfrygunj Martyrs’ Memorial and paid homage to the martyrs who were killed by the Japanese Occupation Force on 30th January 1944.
Thereafter, the Minister visited Mahatama Gandhi Marine National Park at Wandoor. The Minister took keen interest in knowing about the rich biodiversity of these Islands & visited the Marine Interpretation Centre at Wandoor.
He also witnessed a short documentary film on wildlife in the auditorium of MGMNP. The Minister was accompanied by Shri Omkar Singh, PCCF, ANI and Shri G N Sinha, PCCF (Wildlife).
Various aspects of management of the Marine National park including tourism activities were explained to the Hon’ble Minister. On his return journey, the Minister visited the Mata Amritha Hospital at Port Blair and met the patients there.
