Port Blair, March 05 : The A & N State Coop. Bank has inaugurated its 32nd Branch at Wandoor at 4.30 pm on 4th March, 2015. Shri. Bhagat Singh, Chairman of the Bank inaugurated the new branch at Wandoor in presence of Smt. Sushila Mandal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Humfreygunj.
The programme was also attended by Shri. N N Nag, Chairman, Netaji Service Coop. Society, Shri. Madan Lall, Director, A & N StCB, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, SHGs members and a large gathering of local people of the area.
At the Outset, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director of the Bank welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries at the Dias. He has highlighted the various benefits of the bank to the general public including RTGS/NEFT and urged the local residents to come forward and avail banking services with Wandoor branch. He has also highlighted that this 32nd bank branch at Wandoor is a fully fledged CBS branch and shall cater all the financial needs of the people of the area.
Shri. N N Nag, Chairman, Netaji Service Coop. Society also spoke on the occasion. He has appreciated the officials and staff of the bank for opening a bank branch at Wandoor. He further stressed that it was a long pending demand of the area, which has come true. He stressed the local residents and villagers of his area to open savings account.
Smt. Sushila Mandal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Humfreygunj in her address appreciated the efforts of the Bank for opening a bank branch at Wandoor. She further enlightened that opening of bank shall develop the socio-economic conditions of the residents of Wandoor area. She also urged the womens present in the gathering to form more and more Self Help Groups (SHGs) and avail financial assistance under the various schemes of the bank.
Shri. Bhagat Singh inaugurated the branch premises by ribbon cutting followed by unveiling of the inaugural board.
In his keynote address, the Chief Guest Shri. Bhagat Singh informed the general public that Wandoor branch is the 32nd Branch of the bank. He has all the local public of the area to come forward and join hands with the bank by opening their bank accounts. He also informed that the bank has done tremendous work under the recently introduced PMJDY scheme and urged the people to open bank accounts with Zero balance PMJDY scheme. He appealed all the local public to come out with non-conventional ideas like Groundnut farming, Goatry, Dairy, Flower farming, Handicrafts and various other works and take financial support from the bank. He has also opined that Wandoor being a tourist spot shall be able to grow its economic and social upfront with the opening of bank branch.
The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri Thomas Daniel, General Manager (Banking).
