On the occasion of Army Day my wife joins me in extending warm greetings to all Officers, JCOs, Jawans and civilians of the army and their families.
The Indian Army has the highest traditions of valour professionalism and courage. It has always been at the forefront in safeguarding the sovereignty of our country and maintaining peace amidst a very demanding and challenging security environment.
The army component has played a stellar role in maintaining the territorial integrity and security of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This has been facilitated by the presence of our troops on all major islands, frequent Jann Pehchan patrols and ever vigilant Quick Reaction Teams. The component has also ensured readiness for any operational tasking by continuous training in amphibious and heliborne operations. I am sanguine that the Army component would continue to sustain the highest operational tempo in accomplishing our mandate and bring laurels to the Andaman & Nicobar Command and the Indian Army.
On this momentous occasion I urge each and every one of you to continue serving the nation with honour and strive to perform with undaunted courage and selfless professionalism.
