Port Blair, Dec 21: Navy Children School (NCS), Port Blair celebrated its Annual Sports Meet -2014 on 20 Dec 2014 (Saturday) at Netaji Stadium, Marina Park. The Sports Meet was inaugurated by the Major General PK Siwach, Chief of Staff, Andaman and Nicobar Command and Chairman, NCS.
The Sports Day commenced with a March Past by NCS students, kindling the enthusiasm in everyone. The main highlights of the Sports Day were a panoramic display of Cherry Cherubs (Pom-Pom Drill) by the Tiny Tots, Dumbbell Drill, Spectrum (Hula-loop), Little Butterflies (Aerobics), Surya Namaskar, Lazium, Fan Dance and other mesmerising performances by the students. The Athletic Events comprised of Joker Race, 7 Trial Race, Tribe in Fun and Rabbit Race and other outdoor activities.
Mrs MadhuSiwach, Vice President, Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA) gave away the prizes to the winners. The event culminated with a motivational speech, highlighting the importance of sports by the Chief Guest.
The NCS envisions a robust, vibrant and holistic quality education that engenders excellence in every sphere of human endeavour. Organising such a Sports Meet is one of the means to provide nourishment to the body, mind and spirit. It also inculcates a sense of espirit-de-corps and camaraderie, thus making students mentally and physically tough.
