Port Blair, Dec 17: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has drawn Administrator’s attention toward the advertisement No. 1-14/ANIMERS/ Sr /Jr/ Residents/ 2014/93 dated 4th Dec 2014 published to fill up the vacancy of as many as 33 posts of Tutor/ demonstrator/ Registrar/ Sr. Resident and 24 post of Junior Resident in the proposed Medical College at Port Blair.
Kuldeep wrote that as per the said advertisement, the selection for these posts will be done by conduct of interview through video conference at Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai & Bangalore and in person at New Delhi from 0930 AM onwards on 22nd, 23rd ,29th and 30th December 2014.
In the above context Kuldeep has appraised that, as per the advertisement referred above, the qualification required for the posts of Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Resident/ Registrar is MBBS Degree/ M.Sc. and there are many eligible person locally available in these islands who possess these qualification, but Port Blair not being a venue for conduct of interview has prohibited such local candidates to apply/appear in the interview due to non availability/ very high cost of flight tickets to & fro Port Blair to the declared venues of the interview.
Kuldeep has also stated in his letter that the Administrator may appreciate that beside providing better and modern medical facilities to Islanders, one of the prime objective behind setting up of a Medical college at Port Blair is generation of employment opportunity for the Islanders, hence has requested to declare keeping Port Blair also a venue for conduct of interview so that locally available qualified and talented people also get an opportunity to attend the interview and get employment in the proposed prestigious medical college (ANIMERS).
