Port Blair, Dec 14: Dr Sambit Patra, National Spokesperson of Bharthiya Janta Party, who is in a visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands today said that the suggestions he got from the local party members for the development of these islands, will be taken up in the central level.
Addressing a press conference at BJP Bhavan, Middle Point this evening, Dr Sambit Patra said that he was sent by the BJP headquarters to Andamans for inaugurating the “Digital Membership Drive” on 13/12/2014 in these islands. “This is the first time Digitally we are adding the members with the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi No red tape, only red carpet welcome,” he said.
“Earlier adding members was a very difficult task, but with this method the members are added in a very fair manner,” Dr Sambit said.
He said presently there are 19,000 BJP workers and in 2014-2015, he said that the number will increase to 50,000.
“The local unit is working tirelessly for the development of these islands and I appreciate the Mahila Morcha, BJP, for conducting a lot of programmes on Swacha Bharat Abhiyan and also for conducting training programmes at schools to aware the children about the importance of Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojana,” Mr Vishal Jolly, the president of BJP’s A & N State unit said.
