Port Blair, Dec 14:The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegation of Hotel owners has met the Superintendent Engineer, Electricity Deptt on 12th Dec, 2014 and has stated that due to non availability of electrical connections the owners of newly built hotels and resorts at Havelock are facing acute problem.
They have not only spent their hard earned money but also have taken loan from financial institutions for the construction of the hotels and resorts etc but due to non availability of electrical connections, they are unable to rent out their rooms to the visiting tourists and thus sustaining financial loss and the burden of recurring interest also becoming high.
More to it, Kuldeep has also stated that Havelock being one of the most desired tourist place, there should be enhanced power supply for the benefit of the incoming foreign and home tourists and accordingly has requested the Superintendent to take suitable plan for enhanced power generation which will not only be useful for the tourists but residents will also be benefitted and many unemployed youths be accommodated in hotel industries etc as the unemployment problem is one of the major concern of the islands.
