Port Blair, Dec 10: A 13 days skills up-gradation programme from (10th December 2014 to 23rd December 2014) on tailoring under the MEDP (Micro entrepreneurial development programme) scheme sponsored by the NABARD was inaugurated in the Conference Hall of Yuvasakthi on 10th December 2014 at 10.00 am. Aimed at Upgrading advanced skills in tailoring among the women members of self help gourps who were already imparted basic tailoring by the Yuvasakthi, this programme will give an insight into latest technologies in tailoring in order to equip the women self help group members as entrepreneurs in the field of tailoring. This programme will give an insight into latest technologies in trailoring in order to equip the women self help group members from various self help groups have been chosen for this training programme and they will be imparted in skill development aspects such as modern skills in tailoring, fashion designing, Zardosi works, fabric painting, patch work and EDP & Accounting. In a solemn function, the training was formally inaugurated by Smt. Rani Pande, Secretary, Social Welfare Board in the presence of participants, staffs and members of Yuvasakthi. Mr K. Subramani, Founder Member of Yuvasakthi welcomed the guests and participants and gave a brief note about the training and its prospects whereas vote of thanks was proposed by Shri. P. Senpaga Raja, Founder Member.
