Port Blair, Dec 10: The A&N Administration has proposed to constitute the A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The UT Commission shall consist of a Chairperson who is a person of eminence and has done outstanding work for promoting the welfare of children; and three Members, out of which at least one shall be woman, from the following, fields to be appointed by Andaman & Nicobar Administration from amongst persons of eminence, ability, integrity, sanding and experience in Education, child health, care, welfare or child development, Juvenile justice or care of neglected or marginalized children or children with disabilities; Elimination of child labour or children in distress; Child psychology or sociology and Laws relating to children.
The Eligibility Criteria for appointment as Chairperson and other Members will be A person of eminence who has done outstanding work for promoting the welfare of children; (b) A person of eminence, ability, integrity, standing and experience in education, child health, care, welfare or child development, child psychology, laws relating to children.
No person having any past record of violation of human rights or child rights shall be eligible for appointment as Chairman or other Members of the Commission.
Applications are invited from eminent Social Workers working in the field of Child Welfare for selection to the post of Chairman and Members of the A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Interested and eligible social workers may submit their application in the prescribed proforma indicating their experience and achievements acquired so far in the field of Child Welfare to the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration latest by 22nd December 2014. The proforma is available on the website www.and.nic.in or can be obtained from the Directorate of Social Welfare, Goal Ghar, Port Blair on all working days. Persons who have applied earlier need not apply again.
