Port Blair, Nov 13: In continuation of the support to the local populace by the Andaman & Nicobar Command, INHS Dhanvantari conducted a Multi-Speciality Medical Camp at Kamorta on 12 Nov 14. The camp was conducted in coordination with INS Kardip at Community Health Centre, Kamorta with a Student Health Check Up Camp at Goltekry Senior Secondary School, Kamorta and evoked an enthusiastic response from the local population. Col S Radhakrishnan, Senior Advisor & HOD of Dermatology and STD at Command Hospital (AF), Bangalore, Surgical Cdr Saurabh Kumar, Radiologist INHS Dhanvantri, Surgical Cdr Manisha Thakur, Paediatrician, INHS Dhanvantri, Maj Timothy George, Dental Surgeon, INHS Dhanvantri and Surgical Lt Ramnath V, Medical Officer INS Kardip examined approximately 260 persons including children, women and the elderly. Apart from diagnosing and managing ailments of routine nature, the doctors carried out ultra sound scans of expectant mothers, dental surgery and dermatological examinations. Several patients were advised to report to GB Pant Hospital / INHS Dhanvantari for further follow up treatment and management. In addition, a large number of patients were given on the spot specific treatment including dental extractions, filling of caries, therapy for chronic ailments etc.
