Port Blair, Oct 28: The Department of Home Science, JNRM in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, (EDII) Gujarat and National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology, (DST) Govt. of India, New Delhi is organizing three days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp in JNRM seminar room from 28th -30th October 2014.
The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr P Viswa Kannan, IFS, Director (Science & Technology / Tourism). While addressing the gathering Dr P Viswa Kannan underscored the natural abundance in the islands which itself will yield more opportunities to the youth.
He advised the students to explore the possibilities of the Technology based entrepreneurship through which tourism can get a good momentum. The biodiversity of the islands certainly give employment opportunities to more youths, he added. Dr Iqbal Ahmad, Principal, JNRM exhorted the students to make use of the programme by harnessing the latent skills, since entrepreneurship with S & T based certainly solve the unemployment problem of the youths of this islands
Earlier Shri K Venkatesan, Camp Coordinator and HOD, Home Science, explained the significance of the programme and urged the students to reap the benefits. Smt Nidhi Katiyar, Assistant Professor, Department Home Science welcomed the gathering. Smt Nidhi Shekhawat, Assistant Professor in Home Science proposed vote of thanks. Smt. Kusum Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department English coordinated the programme. Around 75 students from various departments took part in the programme.
