Port Blair, Oct 21: The Secretary of Tribal Welfare Department, Mr. G Theva Neethi Dhas today said that Andaman Trunk Road is under absolute control and nobody is allowed inside the Jarawa Reserve through ATR but he said that on the Western Coast the surveillance will now be increased.
“Yes on the Western Coast the Surveillance will be increased as it’s a creek area and people often venture inside the area for fishing,” Mr. Dhas added.
Commenting on the issue of Organic Video Mr. Dhas said that the Department has advised the director and the producer of the documentary that it is illegal and asked them to refrain from releasing the documentary. He said that they have also been asked to remove pictures and videos of Jarawa tribes from the website as well as social media.
