Port Blair, Oct 16: The retail sale of crackers in the Municipal area will be arranged only at the ITF Ground. This was decided at a meeting held in the conference hall of District Office here recently in which various stakeholders including Police representatives, APWD, Municipal Council & representatives of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries, CCS Ltd and CCWS Ltd. The retail sale of crackers in ITF ground shall take place from Oct. 17 to 21 between 9 am to 8.30 pm and on Oct. 22 to 24 between 9 am to 9.30 pm.
This has been arranged to avoid probability of any mishap/dangers on account of any fire incident, on this festival occasion, a communication from the ADM said here today
