Port Blair, Oct 16: The Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder on Wednesday 15 Oct 14 conducted a Mass awareness drive at Pokkadera Panchayat hall in coordination with District administration and fisheries department to spread awareness on various aspects of coastal security among fishermen and local populace.
The Community interaction was attended by Pradhan Pokkadera Panchayat, Assistant Director of Fisheries, SHO Mayabunder, Superintendent of Fisheries Mayabunder and officials from Police, Forest, Fisheries, IB, Pradhan and PRI members of the Panchayat. During the interaction presentation on coastal security exercise being conducted by Coast Guard Regional Headquarters from November 10 to 12 was given to local populace and fishermen. Fishermen were also given demonstration on various life saving safety aspects to help them while venturing into the sea.
