Port Blair, Sept 15: Andaman Sheekha, English Daily, published from Andaman and Nicobar Islands has become first newspaper in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which is included in the front page display list of Newseum, situated at Washington DC, USA.
The Newseum is an interactive museum of news and journalism located at 555 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. The seven-level, 250,000-square-foot museum features 15 theaters and 14 galleries.
Through a special agreement with more than 800 newspapers across the world, the Newseum displays these front pages each day on its website and its gallery. The front pages are in their original, unedited form.
In 2011, October the Editor of Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Roy had got a rare opportunity to visit the Newseum as International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) journalist under Edward R Murrow fellowship.
