Port Blair, Sept 07: On 06/09/14, teams of Special Branch & Central Crime Station (CID) consisting of HCs Suden Dey, K.O. Varghese, Thimmi Raj, Ibrahim Ali, P.R. Ajeesh Kumar, PCs Manpal Singh, Vinod Kumar Pillai, Binoy, Somasekhar Rao, Rakesh Narayan, Uday Kumaran, Sumit Kumar Nag, LHG Sasi Kala and HG Robin under the supervision of Mr. S.K. Goswami, DySP(CID) conducted a special drive in Port Blair Municipal Area against the bootlegging menace and arrested 08 bootleggers namely (1) R. Raja @ Senthil (2) A. Kalai Kumar (3) K. Thanimalai (4) P. Ayyappa (5) G. Kumar (6) K.V. Nageshwar Rao (7) C. Selva Raj and (8) Nagan from Nayagaon, Junglighat, Dairy Farm, Phoenix Bay, School Line, Ranchi Basti and Fisheries jetty under Excise Regulation.
From the arrested persons 57 bottles of 750 ml IMFL, 19 bottles of 180 ml IMFL and 01 bottle 375 ml IMFL were recovered and seized by the Police.
