Port Blair, Aug 27: Following heavy wind late this evening major portion of a large Ashoka tree today fell on a house at Naya Basti area of Chouldari Village. According to reports due to falling of giant branches, the roof of the house suffered heavy damages.
Large portions of asbestos sheet reportedly fell on the bed of the house, on which a child was sleeping but as the child was sleeping inside mosquito net, he survived miraculously.
