Port Blair, Aug 20: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has written a letter to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests informing that many aspiring candidates have approached the Party complaining regarding the method of selection being followed in the Physical Endurance Test being conducted the Forest Department for filling up of 83 vacancies of Industrial Regular Mazdoors.
The procedure of selecting the candidates who secures 1st and 2nd positions by constituting batches comprising of 25 candidates appear to be improper, as there is every possibility that a candidate securing 3rd or even 4th position in a particular batch may have better timing than the candidates securing 1st and 2nd position in other batch. Since, the endurance test is to determine the physical suitability of a candidate in discharging the duty of the Industrial labour, the procedure of laying cut off level as adopted by Police, Army etc in respect of their recruitment may be followed.
Hence, Kuldeep has suggested that, to eliminate such kind of ambiguity and to provide fair opportunity to all participating candidates, it would be appropriate to fix a cut off timing and all such candidates who are able to complete the endurance test within cut off timing may be considered for further process of selection to the post of Industrial Regular Mazdoors in the establishment of Govt. Saw Mill Division, Chatham.
