Port Blair, Mar 29: The Member of Parliament today demanded FIR against the CCS fair price shop, Diglipur and the kerosene supplier to the Diglipur area and also demanded inquiry on issue of shortage of Kerosene in Diglipur region.
Addressing a press conference at MP Bhawan the MP said that during an inspection conducted by him in Diglipur region on 27 March 2012, he found that people were standing in long queue in the hot sun with doubts whether they will get kerosene.
“On enquiring from them as well as the Manager, it is ascertained that the supplied of the kerosene oil make supply only at the flag end of the month to the fair price shop. Citing example that in the month of March, 2012 the CCS got the supply only on 25th March, 2012; during February – 40 drums of kerosene received on 22nd February, 2012 and 14 drums received on 24/2/2012. During January on 24th they received 40 drums and on 25th they received 14 drums. The CCS arranging supply of kerosene to the customers only on one or two days in a month after they received the supply. Reason for the crises may be the method of kerosene supply being made by the supplier and due to the inefficient management being arranged by the fair price shop,” the MP said.
MP alleged that this practice is continuing since last since last many years and nobody is coming forward for the rescue of public.
“I immediately contacted with Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District over phone and requested to register necessary FIR against the CCS (fair price shop) and the kerosene supplier to the CCS, Diglipur,” the MP told media persons.
The MP also demanded that Ration items such as rice, wheat, Sugar, Kerosene should be supplied by the fair price shops daily to the customers and the stock position thereon should be displayed on the Notice Board of the fair price shop.
