Port Blair, July 17: Strike by Private Bus Operators today paralysed normal life in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to reports available here the Bus Operators were agitating against the attack on a Bus Driver, who was beaten by a two wheeler rider at Goal Ghar Junction yesterday after a minor accident.
They alleged that although it was fault of two wheeler rider, the bus driver was beaten and was later picked up by PCR van. The Private Bus operators are now demanding action against the two wheeler rider and the pillion rider. According to last report poured in till late evening they were protesting at Mohanpura and have said to continue the strike tomorrow too, if immediate action is not taken in this regard.
Meanwhile, strike by private bus caused huge problem to general public. Even STS busses failed to make the shortage of buses.
