Diglipur, June 12: Heavy rainfall since this afternoon disrupted normal life at Diglipur Island. According to reports rainfall, which continued till night, resulted in total black out in many areas of Diglipur Region.
Due to heavy rainfall and weak foundation an electric pole near administrative building today fell on vehicles parked nearby. According to reports three four wheelers and one auto suffered damages but luckily no Islander was injured.
Meanwhile Asst. Commissioner Dr. Vivek Kumar visited the site and instructed the Electricity Department and Police Department to carry out repair works and normalize power supply in the war footing.
But according to last report that poured in, the electricity workers had to stop the repair works due to heavy rain till late night, which kept a large area of Diglipur under total darkness.
