Port Blair, Mar 02: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma meeting the Lt Governor on 27th February, 2014 and discussed on the unemployment problems prevailing in these islands in detail.
He stated that youths are very much concerned about their future and thus they leave no stone unturned to make themselves well educated in the fields of their choices, which is of course a good sign for the developing areas like AN Islands.
He has also discussed on the availability of jobs in the AN Administration which are not enough for the increasing educated unemployed youths of these island and hence has requested the Lt Governor to consider introducing of unemployment allowance of Rs. 2000/- per month to each unemployed youths of these islands till such time new ventures are not introduced in these islands for the better future of these youths.
He stated that due to high price of all commodities in AN Islands than other parts of India, this allowance of Rs. 2000/- pm may help them to some extent. Kuldeep also stated that many State Governments like UP, WB, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar and Chandigarh have already introduced paying unemployed allowances taking care of the unemployed youths of their respective States. He has also stated that this consideration will somehow save the unemployed youths from frustration to some extent of not making themselves able to support their families and also meeting up their own needs in these hard days. The Lt Governor has given a patience hearing and assured to look into the matter.
