Port Blair, Mar 20: The Director General of Police, Mr. S.B. Deol today enthralled the students of JNRM during the Youth Festival with his performance on the guitar and singing a jazzy numbers. There was huge applause from the audience. He spoke very well too, giving lot of tips to the artistes, anchors and organisers. He told students to make optimum use of the time available to them and learn as much as possible.
The DGP praised the youths of the islands for their talent and good behaviour and told them to break out of set patterns to emerge as leaders. His humorous imitation of some common mistakes during stage performances drew much laughter from the audience.
Earlier Dr. Iqbal Ahmad welcomed the Chief Guest and spoke about the aims of holding the Youth Festival in the college. Smt. Pearl Devdas proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was compared by Dr Vyas Mani Tripathi and students.
The students presented many songs and dances including Vande Mataram by Bhaskar and Shiv Tandav by Bala Krishna & Party. The Valedictory function will be held tomorrow. Mr. B.s. Bhalla, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education) will be the Chief Guest on the occasion.
