Port Blair, Mar 20: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President INTUC accompanied with the office bearers of the State Transport Employees’ Union called on Secretary cum Director of Transport on 19.03.2012 to discuss various grievances of the employees of the directorate and public in general laying emphasis on the issue related to giving regular appointment to various categories of /Daily Rated/Casual /Contract workers employed for a considerable long period ,implementation of promotion scheme for drivers and MACP concurrently , regularization of the adhoc service of the workers from their initial date of appointment ,filling up of vacant posts, providing rest room for ATR staff at Port Blair and out station for their night halt, upgrading the facilities of public convenience at bus terminus etc. The Secretary cum Director reportedly assured to look into the grievance projected by the Union and settle them accordingly.
