Port Blair, Feb 23: The championship trophy of “State Open ARPAN Rolling Cup Volley Ball Championship – 2014” was lifted by A&N Police team beating 22 Punjab Regiment 3-1. In an exciting thriller played on 22nd Feb’14, A&N Police won the championship for the second time in a row.
Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President ANTCC graced the occasion as chief guest while Shri. Lucas Robert, Director, Sports, Shri. Sajan T Oomen, EE, ZP and Shri. Hamid Ali, Vice President ANTCC and Shri. Andand Amrit Raj, Up-Adhyaksh were the guest of honours. Shri. Mohd Ali, Shri. KP Aboobacker and Subedar Major Amrik Singh of 22 Punjab Regiment also graced the occasion.
Cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- for winners and runners were sponsored by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President ANTCC. Shri. Shashi Kumar of YFC Haddo was adjudged man of the series while the man of the match for final went to Shri. Yashwant of A&N Police. Man of the series was sponsored by M/s TMR Construction, Mathura while the media and publicity was sponsored by M/s Lakshmi Jewellery, Tushnabad. The trophies were sponsored by Shri. Mohd Safiq, Pramukh, PSFG.
The rolling cup championship was hosted by ARPAN, Ngo in association with Youth Club, Ograbraj and MAK Azad youth club, Tushnabad.
