Port Blair, Feb 21: The Coast Guard Kinder Garten School celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 21 Feb 14 at Coast Guard Indoor Sports Complex, Panipath Road, Haddo.
Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) was the Chief Guest for the function. Mrs Jyoti Murthy, President Tatrakshika (A&N) also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
The function commenced with reading of annual report by the Principal Mrs Vidya Umachandran, highlighting the various activities and milestones achieved by the School during Academic Year 2013-2014. Vivid cultural programme and scintillating sports performances by tiny tots won the hearts of highly appreciative audience comprising of Commanding Officers and Officer-in-Charges of CG Ships and Establishments at Port Blair, Committee Members of Tatrakshika (A&N) and Parents/Grandparents of children studying in CGKG School, Port Blair.
On completion of sports events, Mrs Jyoti Murthy, President Tatrakshika (A&N) gave away prizes to the children who excelled in various sports fixtures and Best Student Award was given by IG VSR Murthy to Master Abhinabo Bagchi from UKG.
Speaking on the occasion, IG Murthy congratulated the Principal and her dedicated Teaching and non-Teaching staff for organizing the Annual Sports Day in a most befitting manner. He also expressed his deep satisfaction over the functioning of the CGKG School, Port Blair and wished all the students and the Teaching staff Good Luck in all their future endeavours, a communiqué received from Commandant Rajeev Sharma, PRO Coast Guard.
