Port Blair, January 30: As a relief to thousands of youth seeking Govt jobs wherein they have had to face real problems in getting their certificates attested by gazetted officer, Lt Gen (Retd), A K Singh, Hon’ble Lt Governor of A&N Islands has ordered that self-attestation/self-certification of documents/testimonials by the applicants will be accepted at the time of applying for Govt Jobs in the Administration. From now onwards, self-attestation/self-certification will be good enough. For long, the youth of the Islands have been facing great inconvenience in getting the attestation of certificates done by a gazetted officer. Applicants had to run around to find officer to get the photo copies of their certificates attested. This move will provide much needed relief to the youth of the Islands. People, especially in remote places of the Islands stand to immensely benefit from it.
However, under the self-attestation method, the concerned Department shall have to verify the original documents/testimonials before the final appointment.
