Port Blair, Jan 27:As part of ongoing celebrations for Coast Guard Day 2014, a visit to Coast Guard Ships by children of orphanage from Ramakrishna Mission was organized on 26 Jan 14. About 30 children accompanied by the staff of RK Mission visited CG ships at Coast Guard Jetty.
Mrs. Jyoti Murthy, President Tatrakshika (A&N) was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Tatrakshika (A&N) is closely associated with welfare oriented activities for the CG fraternity as well as for the under-privileged strata of the society including orphanage through the conduct of outreach activities on regular basis. The inmates were provided the opportunity to visit ICGS Varad to get first hand information on CG activities. The visiting children were highly enthusiastic and expressed keen interest to join Coast Guard and serve the nation in future.
Mrs. Jyoti Murthy, President Tatrakshika (A&N) wished the staff and children of the mission good luck in all their future endeavours. She also complemented Commanding Officer ICGS Varad and ICGS Akkadevi for coordinating the visit and making it a memorable one for the visitors.
