Port Blair, Dec 12: Mr. Nama Narain Meena, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance while answering to a parliament question raised by Mr. Bisnhu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament recently gave the details of the amount of NPA under loan and advances and also the prestige of NPA to loan and advances for the last three years of the Andaman and Nicobar State Co-operative Bank Ltd.
The statement of the minister before the Parliament stated that in the year 2010-11 the amount of NPA under loan and advances were Rs. 1654.56 Lakhs and the percentage of NPA to loans and advances were 9.6%. In the year 2011-12 the the amount of NPA under loan and advances were Rs. 4327.85 Lakhs and the percentage of NPA to loans and advances were 19.4 %. He further stated that in the year 2013-13 the amount of NPA under loan and advances were Rs. 4768.8 and the percentage of NPA to loans and advances were 16.8 %.
The minister further informed that the facts and figures of the year 2013-14 will only be available after this financial year ends. In reply to the details of the debt amount of the Bank written off, it is reported that no loan amount has been written off by the bank in the last three years. NABARD further informed that the details of the written off NPA’s for the current is presently unavailable.
