Port Blair, Dec 05: A two days ‘Festival of Classical Dance’ is being organized by the Department of Art and Culture, A&N Administration on 7th & 8th December 2013 from 6 p.m onwards at the auditorium of Anthropological Survey of India (ASI), Middle Point, Port Blair. Renowned classical exponents shall participate in the festival.
Ms Keya Chanda and Ms.Tanmoy from Kolkata shall present Kathak performances whereas Manipuri classical dances shall be presented by Ms Bimbhabati Devi and Arpita Saha of Manipur. Celebrated Kuchipudi exponents Shri Vedanatham and Smti. B. Swarnalatha from Andhra Pradesh and Bharatnatyam artists Shri M. Srinivasan and Ms E.Kalaivani from Tamilnadu will also perform during the festival. Shri Manikuttan and Smti. Bijitha Anish, classical exponents from these islands shall also perform during the two days festival. This festival is being organized in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata and South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, Government of India.
Smti. Rashmi Krishnan , IAS ,Secretary (Industries),A&N Administration will be the chief Guest at the inaugural function.
