Port Blair, Nov. 05: The State President, BJP Shri Vishal Jolly appreciating the efforts of the A&N Administration in notifying long pending vacancies of Teachers in the Education Department, in a letter to the Lt. Governor today said that the step taken will certainly have a positive impact on the quality of teaching. Moreover a good number of qualified youths of these Islands will get a preference which is a welcome step, said Jolly.
While appreciating the Administration, the State President brought to the notice of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor that the educational qualification prescribed in the notification carried in Daily Telegram dated 01.11.2013, for GTT (Mathematics) has excluded candidates who completed BSc, BEd (Computer science with Mathematics as a main subject). BSc, BEd integrated computer science start of the year 2003 has two main subjects namely i.e. Main – I:- Computer Science, Main – II :- Mathematics.
Apart from studying computer since last 4 years, Integrated BSc, BEd (CS) study the following mathematics papers during their course of study Sem – I : Main – II : Mathematics – I, Sem – II : Main – II : Mathematics – II, Sem – V : Probability and statistics Teaching of Mathematics – I, Sem : VI : Teaching of Maths – II, Sem : VII : Teaching of Maths – III, Sem : VIII : Subject specialization, 1. Computer based optimization Techniques 2. Op – II Teaching of Maths.
Further for Admission to 4 year Integrated BSc, BEd (CS) is given to candidates from PCM group. Keeping in view of above, Jolly said the that the party feels that the students of 4 Years integrated BSc. BEd should be considered for appointing under GTT (Maths) as in similar recruitment earlier, students with 4 year integrated BSc. BEd has been appointed as GTT (Maths) and they are already serving in education departments
