Port Blair, Nov 11: Those who are devoted follower of ‘greasing-palms system’ be aware. The Anti-Corruption has finally pull-up socks to send such corrupt people behind bars.
Talking to media person during a press conference this afternoon, Mrs. Aslam Khan, the Superintendent of Police (Anti-Corruption) today said that Anti-Corruption department is presently working in many such cases of corruption and soon more people will be held.
When asked the reasons behind such long since in Anti-Corruption Department and lack of any major activities, the SP said that now the Anti-Corruption is fully geared up and soon the results will come out infront of public.
“I want to do more trap cases, where the person demanding bribe is caught red handed,” she said, warning those who are indulged in corrupt activities in these Islands.
Very recently the Anti-Corruption Department has worked out two cases of corruption.
She urged public to come up with specific complaints and assured to keep the name of complainant totally secret.
“I personally make sure that the name of the Complainant is not leaked and hence often I meet the complainant personally in some other place,” she added.
When asked whether there is any kind of pressure on the Anti-Corruption Department from the Administration, she replied that for those who are working sincerely has all kind of freedoms to perform their duties in the Anti-Corruption unit.
