Diglipur, Oct 18: The Pramukh of Diglipur Mr. Gauranga Dutta inaugurated Model School Boys Hostel and Model School Girls Hostel on the campus at Sita Nagar, Diglipur on Thursday evening in the presence of Asst. Commissioner Dr. Vivek Kumar, Deputy Education Officer, Mr. P C Tikait, Pradhan Sitanagar Mr. Sunil Paramanik, Pradhan, Subhash Gram Mr. P R Singaram.
The hostels built by Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works can accommodate 30 students each. Speaking on the occasion, the Asst. Commissioner stated that the inauguration of the Boys’ hostel will greatly benefit the students of far and remote areas, who can now get proper accommodation facility and suitable study environment. He directed the concerned authorities for immediately putting up minor repairs and all required facilities in the hostel rooms so that the students study well.
“Hostel culture not only provides opportunity for the students to collectively study, play sports and mingle with other students, it also helps in the all round development of the students,” he said. The Assistant Commissioner further stated that all the new buildings must be properly utilized for the purpose for which it has been constructed.
He also laid emphasis on the need for proper maintenance and upkeep of the hostel building and keeping the surrounding neat and clean for a healthy atmosphere.
