Port Blair, Oct 17: It is brought to the information of general public of these islands that Ambulance services are available on all the District Hospitals, Community Health Centres & Primary Health Centres for evacuation of patients up to the nearest hospital and also to transport the patients to the GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair on being referred by Medical Officer of the respective Health Institutions. All the ambulances available in the Health Institutions of South Andaman District are connected to the Centralised Ambulance Call Centre with Toll free No.102, which can be dialled from base phone as well as Mobile phone.
During the recent visit of the Hon’ble Lt Governor to the rural areas of South Andaman District, he has instructed to organise multi-specialty camps in the rural areas of South Andaman for the benefits of the villagers. The Health Department in collaboration with the INHS Dhanvantri has taken necessary steps for conduct of such camps. To begin with, a multi-specialty camp is proposed to be organised on 1st & 2nd November, 2013 from 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM at the Orgabraj Panchayat Community Hall and the services of Medical Specialist, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Radiologist (with Portable Ultra Sound Machine), Dental Surgeon, Ophthalmologist and ENT Specialist will be available. The general public of the nearby villages can avail the services of these specialists on these dates. Such camps will also be organised in other villages of South Andaman District in phased manner.
