Port Blair, Sep 18: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC expressing concern over the prevailing unemployment problems of these islands has written a letter to the Lt Governor for his immediate intervention to fill up the vacant posts available in various departments of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Giving information of 306 vacant posts of different categories under Director of Shipping services viz Regular Mazdoors, Lascars, Greasers, Sukanies, Cooks, fitters, platters, sweepers, tin smiths and copper
smiths Mr. Kuldeep has earnestly requested the Administrator to consider filling up these posts at an early date.
He has also stated that there are huge numbers of technically and educationally qualified youths available in these islands to be selected in such posts and appointing them in these posts will not only be a great help to the unemployed youths but also to the society. Mr. Kuldeep has full faith that the Administrator will take immediate suitable action for the welfare of the unemployed youths, a communication from PCC said.
